Sikhi (Sikhism) Workshops
Sikhi (Sikhism) explored through the lives of the Gurus, the festivals of the Sikh year and the everyday life of a Gurdwara, using artefacts, stories and discussion.
In the session
Sessions introduce Sikhi in language that suits the age of the group, from a first encounter with Sikh symbols in Key Stage 1 to more searching discussion of belief, equality and service with older pupils.
Artefacts and visual resources are central. Pupils see, handle where appropriate and ask questions about the objects that appear in Sikh worship and daily life, rather than reading about them at a distance.
Content is agreed with your RE lead in advance so the session lands alongside what your class is already studying.
Festivals and Gurpurabs
Festivals give pupils a way into Sikh history and belief through story and celebration. Sessions can focus on one festival in depth or introduce the shape of the Sikh year.

The Ten Gurus
Pupils meet the Ten Sikh Gurus through their lives, teachings and the values they taught — equality, honest work, service and standing up for others.
Stories about the Gurus and Sikh history are told with discussion and visual resources, with plenty of space for pupils' own questions.
Symbols and the Five Ks
The Khanda, Ik Onkar and the Five Ks are explored with age-appropriate explanations and artefacts, so pupils can connect a symbol they may have seen with what it means to Sikhs.
A day in a Gurdwara
This topic walks pupils through a Gurdwara: the Darbar Sahib, the place of Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Langar and Seva, and the respect and etiquette shown by everyone who visits.
It is available as a learning session delivered in your school. If you would like to discuss an off-site visit, please raise it when you enquire — arrangements, venue and transport are not part of a standard workshop.

- Yes. Sessions are planned with headteachers, RE leads and teaching staff around the topics your pupils are studying.
- Can activities be adapted for different ages and abilities?
- Workshops can be adapted to pupils' ages, abilities and curriculum needs, including SEN groups. Tell us about your group when you enquire and we can talk through what will work.
- Do you offer assemblies?
- Assemblies and introductory sessions last 40 minutes or longer and can focus on a chosen religious or cultural topic, with displays, artefacts and time for questions.
